Lisa Wilcox Deyo is an award-winning landscape architect area with a focus on sustainable landscape design, installation, and maintenance.  She has completed over 50 projects; including rain gardens, conservation landscapes, terraces and patios, institutional open spaces and a meditation garden in the Washington D.C. area. Her life-long work has been to combine art and science to help people connect with nature.  Lisa uses native plants and collaborates with clients to create low-maintenance outdoor spaces that delight throughout the seasons. Her design approach in creating functional and restorative gardens. starts with a detailed site assessment.

Lisa received a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia, and a BA in natural history and science writing from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She is an empty-nester with her husband Tom in Bethesda, Maryland, where they are entertained by the amazing variety of birds that migrate through and nest in their native plant garden.

Lisa is a certified Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, recognized for her professional skills in sustainable design practices.  She was the landscape architect for a two-year project funded by the Chesapeake Bay Trust to educate residents in a Montgomery County community on “Rainscapes” techniques to manage excessive storm water runoff on their residential lots.   The design and installation of a small-scale demonstration project of conservation landscaping that met state and local goals to reduce storm water runoff, sediments, and pollutants was her main role.
